Mom, I'm coming home
My bags are packed, packed with presents that is. Two whole bags! I have no room for my clothes! Guess I have to figure something out by tomorrow. I'm heading to North Carolina for a few days to celebrate Christmas with my amazing family. I'll be back in the New Year. Have a very Merry Christmas and an even happier New Year!

My Weekend
Another great weekend up in the cabin. We attempted to cut down our own Christmas tree but no such luck. We ended buying a nice one and drank mulled wine while we decorated. Brett's sister and I made a wreath too. Note to self - where gloves next time you do this. I'm headed to North Carolina in three days. I can't wait!

Great Etsy Article
There's a great article in the NYTimes today about etsians who've been able to quit their day jobs. It's pretty inspiring!

Dores Handmade Giveaway
Sorry I've been MIA the past couple of days. The holidays are always a really busy time. Anyway, I'm a little late on this but Dores Handmade is having a giveaway for one of her necklaces. Check out her blog if you get a chance. It's one of my new favorites.

Holiday Craft Sale
There's another craft sale this weekend in NYC! Click here for more info. Here are some things on my list this weekend - buy Christmas presents, make presents, wrap them, do some baking - a gingerbread house would be awesome but I don't think I'll have time. What are your plans for the weekend?

Our Tree and its Skirt
Here's our tree and its skirt as promised. We picked out a pretty decent one this year. It's about my height and smells wonderful. I feel better now that the ugly tree stand isn't showing. I've also added another type of garland to my shop.

Scalloped Tree Skirt
The past couple of years the bottoms of our trees have been naked. This year I decided to sew a tree skirt. I used this pattern. Photos of the end results will be in the next post.

Lauren Haupt Jewelry
I discovered Lauren Haupt at the Bust Craftacular over the weekend. Her jewelry is really pretty and her booth was one of my favorites.

My Weekend
This was a pretty busy weekend. The Craftacular was awesome - so many vendors. There were a ton of people (as you can see in the first photo) so it was kind of hard to get a good look at things but it was still fun. We had some good food and wine. The last photo shows my new favorite salad - arugula, cranberries, cherry tomatoes, apples, walnuts, goat cheese and a little balsamic and oil. We grilled some steak too. So good.

A Few More Items
I just realized that Thanksgiving is next week! I really thought it was about two weeks away. Looks like I need to start getting my butt in gear with Christmas gifts. Here are some new items I've added to my shop to help make your gifts a little more festive.

My Weekend
On Sunday, Brett and I were tourists for a day and walked across the Brooklyn Bridge and then worked our way to the Dumbo Flea. I also started a couple new projects which you can see in the last photo. To finish off a great weekend we bought and watched my new favorite movie UP. Hope you had a nice weekend!
